Craklin' Rosie
Somebody at the local oldies radio station likes this tune. It has played twice in the past few days during the 15 minutes or so a day we listen to that station. Mornings and evenings in the car we listen to NPR but at lunchtime they have classical music on. S looks at me odd because it is the 1 neil diamond song I know, and I always sing along. I told her to blame it on fishman, for the spring 92 tour they played it everynight, Jon up on stage with two cymbals, the left one had a large “B” taped on it, while the right had an “ah”. Bah Bah Bah.
I started to tell her the story of John Hagen and I eating lunch up in the Haight, at a chinese restaurant, singing along with neil diamond on the radio. She interupted to tell me she had already heard the story. Apparently the memory is funnier than the story of the memory.
Music
I decided to put more music on my computer at work. For a while I have had about the same 10 hours of music, and it was starting to get repetitive. I dug out some cds and copied files for a while, I now have a little more than 36 hours before i repeat.
As the music plays, I occcasionally notice it, when that does I flip over and label the track with the title. Everything i copied over is live so it is labeled like gd89-07-18d3t07 which means that it is grateful dead, recorded july 18 1989 third disc track 7. Works real well for archival purposes, because the tracks will line up in the order they were originally played. But on iTunes i have it set to shuffle by Album so I move the date to the album field, fill in the correct track number and disc numbers, and relabel the title in this case to the Mighty Quinn.
I happen to remember this show, up at alpine valley. what a nice venue.
Slightly offtopic but we were talking about concerts and it comes out that Keigan has seen more concerts than many of the students at KState.
