Getting rid of excess email
Recently I took over maintenance of a project that generates emails to keep us informed of its status. Some of these I actually have to look at and verify that things are working as they should, though when the email was set up it was set so that a search that fails to find something also generate an email to the same account.
A weekly task for me has become searching through the new emails and acting on those that need it. As I started poking around in the shared folder on exchange that stored all that mail, I cringed as I discovered more than 200,000 messages about searches.
At this point I’ve been deleting them as they arrive through a filter, I really need to shut them off at the source. As I work throughout the day I look at outlook, select a group of messages and delete them. Outlook cant handle more than 4000 messages in one go round so Ive been keeping them sorted within folders and by subject, most groupings are well below the 4000 message block. Today I hit the end of the road, with 140,000 messages divided up into four groups.
After working for a while with one hand on the mac, and one finger pressed firmly on the delete on the windows machine, that got to be to uncomfortable. Looking around I saw the perfect rock. With a little work it was balanced just right, and we are left with only 129,574 messages at the moment.

you have to wonder how Clinton managed to get into the picture.
For all the care Bush takes to attempt to get the backdrops perfect for his photo shoots, this appears to be another sign that he is distracted and just looking out for himself when the crash comes. If you really want to pose the family place them in front of poppy, unless they are hoping to let this picture show that ‘Scalito’ has Clintons support.
