Test of Pings
I noticed that one of the new changes is the inclusion of support for pinging in the admin section of Typo. Unfortunately I can’t be sure that it is actually sending out the pings that I have asked it to send.
News from abroad
Simon shows back up on his blog several days later.
This comes from reading all about total strangers lives, they actually become people, instead of an article posted on the internet containing information you are in need of. I dont remember what initially started me reading Simons blog , small values of cool, but it has become a regalur one for me to check into.

Trackback Spam
Over the last few days I have been getting hit with trackback spam, I’ve now installed mt-blacklist, and despite agreeing with the futility of banning ip addresses for comments, I have started to ban ip addresses that are linked in with the trackback spam.
The whole point of using trackback is to create links on one blog that point back to a destination. If the destination is spoofed it doesnt work for the person creating the link. So the ip that is used by trackback must be the ip that they are hoping to drive traffic towards.
Archives Added
Last night I added the previous blogs entries to this server. I still have problems with 404 errors, As you know doubt have noticed when I changed servers I lost the tilde(~) from before my name. Not a big deal but all the people arriving from searches go to a nonexistant page. Right now I am redirecting them all to the homepage, as this seemed friendlier than the default error page.
What I would really like is to figure out mod_rewrite and actually get all the old pages to rewrite to their new positions. I spent some time looking into that last night/early morning.
S came downstairs around 4:30 wondering where I had gone. As she saw me sitting here at the keyboard, her first words were about the idiocy of my behavior. Luckily I had just gotten up, and came downstairs because I couldn’t sleep. I maybe an idiot but not as big of an idiaot as to stay up the entire night knowing I had to go to work still today.
