Ocular Migraine
Friday afternoon as I was working, I had to take a break as I encountered a blind spot in the center of my vision. Looking on google I came up with a diagnoses of Migraine with Aura. Yes it is difficult to do a web search without the ability to focus into the center of your vision.
After walking away from the computer I called Sarieah, and explained what was happening. She continued the search for me, and found these sites which lead us to conclude that I was suffering from an ocular migraine. The images on this later page are a pretty good approximation of what it was like, although instead of simply growing larger, the spot ended up sliding around to the left and finally was completely gone.
Unfortunately the pain, which started well after the vision problems, continued to bother me until later that evening.
Drive over the pass
Last weekend as I drove Caden to Klamath Falls I was struck by the changes in ground cover. I know of no other region in this country where you can see such rapid change from fertile river valley, up into a coniferous forest and over the pass and into high desert. Compressed into a few hours drive, from the Pacific coast to the high desert, while from the other direction you have to traverse half the continent to see the same range.
Indoor season
Caden kicked off the changing of seasons with a 4 game tournament in Klamath Falls last weekend. I drove him down early in the morning, it was 5:30 when we left the house. Caden and his team played 3 games back to back, then took an hour break for lunch, and came back and played the championship game. Their were only 4 teams in the tournament, so they had already played everybody prior to the championship game, barely beating the team they met again for the championship. During the second match-up Caden’s team settled down and played a stronger passing game, with the final score being 9-3 in their favor. This weekend Caden started his regular indoor season, once again playing on two teams, one in his age group and one in the age group just above him. Friday nights game his team won by 4-2, while today’s game they won 4-0.
NO - on retroactive immunity
Kagro X has a good article giving one more reason why we shouldn’t offer retroactive immunity to telecommunications companies for their willing cooperation with the Bush Administration in breaking the law.
